The Office of Victims of Crime (OVC) Grant is a federal funding program administered by the U.S. Department of Justice’s Office for Victims of Crime. These grants are designed to support programs that provide services, advocacy, and resources to victims of crime, with a particular focus on underserved communities, including tribal nations.
For tribal communities like the Native Village of Unalakleet, the OVC Tribal Victim Services grant helps fund initiatives such as:
-
Crisis intervention and emergency assistance
-
Legal advocacy and victim rights education
-
Mental health and trauma-informed care resources
-
Culturally relevant healing and support programs
-
Training for tribal staff on victim services
The goal is to ensure that victims of crime—especially those in rural and tribal areas—receive the support they need to recover and seek justice.
Please contact the OVC Coordinator if you would like assistance with any of the above initiatives. It is free, private, and confidential for all Unalakleet Tribal members. To contact, text or call 907-625-1432.
Below are free, additional resources for those who are experiencing Sexual Assault/Domestic Violence. Remember, you are not alone and help is available 24/7.
